M/V Mare Australis & M/V Via Australis

Explore the magnificent natural beauty of the most southern part of the world onboard the very comfortable M/V Mare or M/V Via Australis. Sail through a maze of islands, quiet fjords, calving glaciers and pristine forests. Every day you head out by zodiac to observe wildlife, visit sights of interest and take walks on land. In the evenings you can sit back and let the crew spoil you.
TRAVELOGUE
 
Tour A: Punta Arenas - Ushuaia 
 
 
Day 1, Sat.: 
Boarding until 7 p.m. The ship starts the cruise towards the Magelllan Street. 
 
Day 2, Sun.: 
Go on land to visit a sea lion colony in Ainsworth bay and see the Marinelli Glacier. In the afternoon you go for a walk around the Brookes Glacier. 
 
Day 3, Mon.: 
Excursion to the impressive Pia Glacier. A lookout gives you a spectacular view of the glacier. Back on the boat we continue through the Beagle Channel and the “Avenue of Glaciers”. 
 
Day 4, Tue.: 
Today you cruise through the Murray Channel to Cape Horn National Park. If the weather is good you can go on land at Puerto Williams, the most southern city in the world. 
 
Day 5, Wed.: 
Arrival in Ushuaia and disembarkation around 9 a.m. 
 
 
Tour B: Ushuaia - Punta Arenas 
 
 
Day 1, Wed.: 
Boarding until 6 p.m. The boat leaves the Ushuaia harbor and sets course for the Beagle Channel. 
 
Day 2, Thu.: 
Today you cruise through the Beagle and Murray Channels to Cape Horn National Park. If the weather is good you can go on land at the Cape. Afterwards you go on land at Wulaia Bay. 
 
Day 3, Fri.: 
Continue to the Günter Plüshow Glacier where you can go on land and take a walk close to the glacier. 
 
Day 4, Sat.: 
Cruise through the Straight of Magellan. Excursion to Magdalena island and a walk to the light house. Arrival in Punta Arenas. Disembarkation around 11:30 a.m. 
 
 
M/V Mare Australis & Via Australis 
These two sister ships, M/V Mare Australis and M/V Via Australis, feature four decks with respectively 63 or 64 spacious cabins with a private bathroom and toilet, heat and air conditioning. The difference between the cabins is the deck they are located on – however, all offer an ocean view. The ships also feature a restaurant, several bars and a library.
